Visualisations are one of the most effective and accessible ways of accurately communicating a range of information to others. There are significant opportunities for their use in a wide range of interpretation applications. For instance they can:
- communicate information on historic sites or features through computer generated reconstructions
- provide illustrations and photorealistic images for publications or displays
- communicate the progressive development of sites or buildings through different time periods
- facilitate the interpretation of complex sites or items
The process of producing visualisations often provides additional valuable information in particular when used for the reconstruction of heritage sites or elements.
